Considered one the finest poets to have graced our planet, revered as a literary genius, Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese artist, poet and writer. His name is counted amongst the greatest of greats such as Shakespeare and Laozi, and so it was only a matter of time when his best-known work, The Prophet, would be adapted to the big screen.

Produced by Salma Hayek-Pinault and directed by Roger Allers, the film’s world premiere will take place in Beirut, and will be released in Lebanon on 30th April.

But why would a film company partner with an advertising agency?

Well, according to Mohamed Fathallah, Managing Director of Fathallah Films, “We partnered with J. Walter Thompson because of their reputation for producing innovative solutions that ignite the consumer’s passion. The team in Beirut have done a tremendous job in a very short space of time, bringing alive the film’s enticing storyline and Gibran’s compassionate message, across multiple channels.”

Through a multi-channel integrated campaign that focuses on the spirit of humanity, the main theme of Gibran’s book, the campaign invites people in Lebanon to upload a photo on instagram of a good deed or an act of kindness, using the hashtag #MyGibranGoodDeed

To date, The Prophet has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and has been transalted into more than 40 languages.
